Legal Notice, Service Terms, Privacy & Cookie Policy

This page combines the Legal Notice, Website Terms of Use, General Service Information, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for www.carinspectorjack.com.

Purpose of this website

This website provides information about independent vehicle-related services, including pre-purchase consultations, vehicle search and research, and on-site vehicle inspections.

Users must use the website lawfully and must not interfere with its security or operation, introduce malicious software, attempt unauthorised access, or use its content in a way that infringes the rights of Car Inspector Jack or third parties.

The information on this website is general in nature. It may be corrected, updated, replaced or removed where necessary. Reasonable efforts are made to keep it accurate and current, but its completeness or continued availability cannot be guaranteed.

Enquiries, bookings and contracts

Sending an enquiry through WhatsApp, email, telephone or this website does not by itself create a confirmed booking.

A service becomes binding only after the relevant service, scope, price, vehicle, location, date, travel costs and any specific conditions have been agreed and Car Inspector Jack has confirmed the booking in writing or by another durable electronic means. Before confirming and paying, the client will be given access to these terms and asked to accept them.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the full agreed price must be received before Car Inspector Jack departs for an on-site inspection or begins the booked remote service. Available payment methods will be communicated during the booking process.

If information provided by the client, seller or third parties changes materially before the service, the scope, timing or price may need to be revised. Any material change will be communicated to the client before proceeding.

Specific written conditions communicated and accepted for an individual booking form part of the contract. If they conflict with this document, the individually agreed condition applies only to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory consumer rights always take priority.

Services and professional assessment

A consultation, search, research service or vehicle inspection is an independent professional assessment based on the vehicle's accessible condition, the information available, the agreed scope and the circumstances existing at the time of the service.

Unless expressly included in the agreed service, an inspection does not involve dismantling components, opening sealed units, laboratory analysis or verification of matters that cannot reasonably be accessed or observed.

An inspection or consultation does not constitute a vehicle warranty and does not replace an official ITV inspection, a dismantling-based workshop diagnosis, manufacturer certification or valuation for insurance purposes.

Any recommendation reflects the information available at the time. The final decision whether to buy, negotiate, reserve, transport, register or use a vehicle remains with the client.

The service is considered completed when the agreed inspection, consultation, search or research work and the expressly agreed principal deliverable have been provided. The client's decision not to purchase the vehicle, dissatisfaction with the vehicle itself, disagreement with an honestly reached professional recommendation, or a change in the vehicle's condition after the assessment does not mean that the service was not performed.

The client must provide accurate information, identify the relevant vehicle and seller, and ensure that lawful access and the seller's permission have been arranged. Any test drive is subject to the owner's permission, roadworthiness, valid insurance and safe conditions. Car Inspector Jack may refuse or stop any activity considered unsafe, unlawful or outside the agreed scope.

Prices and additional costs

Consumer prices displayed on this website include applicable Spanish VAT (IVA), unless expressly stated otherwise.

Travel, mileage, flights, accommodation, tolls, temporary insurance, third-party reports or other necessary additional costs may apply depending on the vehicle's location and the requested service. Applicable additional costs, or the method used to calculate them, will be communicated before the booking is confirmed.

Prices and availability shown on the website may be updated. A price change will not affect an already confirmed booking unless the client requests a material change to the service.

Cancellation, access failure and statutory withdrawal

Client cancellation and rescheduling

Appointments reserve professional time and may require advance preparation, coordination and travel arrangements. Any cancellation or rescheduling conditions applying to the booking will be communicated before confirmation and must be accepted by the client. Statutory consumer withdrawal rights described below remain unaffected.

Third-party costs specifically authorised by the client and already incurred, such as flights, accommodation, temporary insurance, tolls or paid vehicle-history reports, are non-refundable to the extent permitted by law and where they cannot reasonably be recovered from the relevant provider.

Seller absence, refused access or unavailable vehicle

If the inspection cannot be carried out because the seller fails to attend, refuses access, withdraws permission, provides no keys, or the vehicle is absent or materially inaccessible for reasons not attributable to Car Inspector Jack, the client will normally receive a refund of 50% of the inspection price. The remaining 50% covers the reserved appointment, prior coordination, preparation and professional time committed to the booking.

Separately agreed third-party and travel costs already incurred are treated as stated in section 6.1. If only part of the agreed inspection can reasonably be completed, Car Inspector Jack will document the work performed and discuss the appropriate next step with the client. This clause does not apply where the failure to provide the service is attributable to Car Inspector Jack, and it remains subject to mandatory consumer law.

Cancellation by Car Inspector Jack

If Car Inspector Jack must cancel and cannot offer a reasonable alternative accepted by the client, amounts paid for the unperformed service will be refunded. This does not affect any further mandatory rights the client may have.

Fourteen-day statutory withdrawal right

Where a consumer concludes a service contract at a distance, including through WhatsApp or email, the consumer generally has 14 calendar days from conclusion of the contract to withdraw without giving a reason, subject to the exceptions and conditions established by Spanish consumer law.

To exercise this right, the consumer must send an unequivocal statement to mail@carinspectorjack.com

If the consumer requests that the service begin during the 14-day withdrawal period and later withdraws before completion, the consumer may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the service already provided, where legally applicable.

Once a paid service has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal is lost only where performance began with the consumer's prior express request and acknowledgement that the right would be lost once the service had been fully performed.

After the service has been fully performed under these conditions, no refund is due merely because the client changes their mind, decides not to purchase the vehicle, disagrees with the recommendation, or because the vehicle's condition changes or a defect arises after the inspection.

These statutory rules are separate from the contractual cancellation and rescheduling rules above. Nothing in this document limits mandatory consumer rights or prevents a client from making a genuine claim that the agreed service itself was not performed with the legally required professional care.

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website, including texts, photographs, videos, branding, designs, reports, inspection materials, checklists, guides and downloadable documents, is owned by Car Inspector Jack or used with appropriate authorisation.

Nothing in this document excludes or limits liability in circumstances where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, nor does it restrict the mandatory rights of consumers.
